Developed by scientists with 25-30 years’ experience within electromagnetic methods, PetroMarker’s marine CSEM technology has continued to add value for our clients since 2007. The technology is based on the following design criteria:

  • Improved investigation depth, down to a theoretical 5 000 m below sea-bed
  • Improved horizontal resolution, with target reservoir area between 5 and 25 km2
  • Improved vertical resolution, with minimum target reservoir thickness between 30 and 100 m
  • Capability to detect and discriminate vertically placed resistive targets
The methods consist of vertical transmitters and receivers, operating in time domain and in near zone. The technology and operating method used by PetroMarker was reviewed by research and exploration scientists and engineers of the world’s major offshore oil companies.
