The first step in the assessment of a target is feasibility modeling. In cases where feasibility modeling turns out positive, these “EM positive” targets are taken to the next level. This implies a detailed planning of survey geometry including transmitter and receiver positions to obtain an optimal coverage of the target area. The design of a survey is highly flexible, and is customized for each specific target scenario. During an offshore survey, both receivers and transmitters are stationary while recording. After recording in one configuration the equipment is rearranged to another configuration, and is “rolled along” the pre-defined survey geometry.
